Zone Overview

Dense Forest, Dramatic Sightings

Bijrani sits at the southwestern end of Corbett's core zone, accessed from the Amdanda gate. Its landscape is a mix of dense sal forest, open pockets of meadow, and the winding Bijrani stream β€” an ecosystem that supports extraordinary prey density and, in turn, impressive predator populations.

Large chital herds draw tigers into open clearings with impressive regularity. Leopards are more frequently sighted in Bijrani than in any other Corbett zone. Asian elephant family groups move between the forest and stream in the evening slot. Unlike Dhikala, Bijrani remains open through the year β€” making it the go-to zone for monsoon and shoulder-season visitors.
